Popular documentary series doubles the length of episodes

Supercars Life, the popular behind the scenes documentary series that follows the world of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, is set to expand in 2017.

Episodes will double in length to one hour and continue to be broadcast on Fox Sports 506.

The series, produced by AME Management, explores the lives of drivers and team personnel at both and away from the track.

“Supercars Life gives fans a great look inside the sport, behind the scenes, and tells some great stories that show there’s so much more to the sport and drivers, than just the racing,” driver Craig Lowndes said.

The first episode of the series airs on Wednesday March 1 at 8:30pm (AEDT).

All drivers and teams will be featured across 13 episodes, with legends of the sport including Mark Skaife and Russell Ingall also included.

“The one thing Supercars fans love is to relate to us as people; Supercars Life gives our fans an insight into our personal life away from the track; it portrays who we are as people; what is important to us and how we live our life day to day, so much more than just our race face,” 2015 champion Mark Winterbottom said.

Supercars Life Executive Producer, Ryan Sanderson, attributed the growth of the sport to the expansion of the program.

“It’s really amazing to see Supercars Life evolve into something much bigger, and even more in depth this year,” he said.

“The reception from the fans over the last two years has been incredible, and to be able to provide them with an even more captivating experience is something that we’re very excited by and will work as hard as we can and closely with Supercars, FOX SPORTS and all teams, to ensure ultimately that the fans are happy with the end result.”
