The Gold Coast 500 is a street circuit race organised by Supercars. The circuit includes a section of the Gold Coast Highway, opposite Macintosh Island Park, and other residential streets in northern Surfers Paradise and Main Beach.
The event will take place from Friday 25th October to Sunday 27th October 2024 and will involve the closure of some streets in these suburbs. When the event takes place, Supercars will establish an ‘Event Precinct’ which defines the boundaries of road closures and event gates in Main Beach and Surfers Paradise.
The ‘Event Precinct’ refers to the area located within the temporary event fencing. If you’re unsure whether your address is located within the event precinct, you can check the map here, please also refer to the list of buildings confirmed within the event precinct.
From 12:01 AM - Friday 25th October, to 7:00 PM - Sunday 27th October 2024, the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 event precinct will be secured, and entry will be via Resident Access pass or a valid event ticket only.
If you reside within the event precinct, and will be at your residence across October 25-27 2024, you will need to apply for resident access.
Resident Access Passes are issued to those within the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 Event Precinct, providing them with access to their home during the event.
It is vital that you always carry your Resident Access pass with you, as you will be required to show it to security to re-enter the event precinct through any of the event gates. Please endeavour to follow these rules to avoid delays and frustration.
Online applications opened on Monday 2nd September at 9:00 AM and will remain open to the conclusion of the event.
The 2024 Queensland State Election is set to take place on October 26, coinciding with the Saturday of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 event weekend.
Voters in Queensland will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for their preferred candidates in the state election.
As this is a significant day for both the election and the event, residents are advised to plan accordingly to ensure they can participate in the electoral process while also considering the activities and potential restrictions associated with the Gold Coast 500.
For more information on voting locations and election details, please refer to the official Electoral Commission of Queensland website.
