The track schedule for North Queensland’s biggest annual sporting event is set, with Supercars confirmed to hit the track on all three days of what is shaping as the biggest ever NTI Townsville 500.

Round 6 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, this year’s NTI Townsville 500, will be held on July 5-7, within the Queensland school holidays.

Supercars will have two practice sessions on the opening day of the event, before qualifying, a Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout and a 250km race on Saturday, followed by another qualifying Shootout and second 250km race on Sunday.

Also, on track at this year’s NTI Townsville 500 will be some of the best support categories in the country, including the Dunlop Series' up-and-coming stars of Supercars, the Porsche Sprint Challenge, TGRA GR Cup and the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series.

Event Manager Matt Ramsden said this year’s event in Townsville is shaping as one of the biggest three-day spectacles Supercars has ever put on in North Queensland.

“We’re very excited to get back to Townsville,” Ramsden said.

“We’ve got one of our biggest on-track lineups of the year with Supercars and four of the best support categories in Australia filling the card and featuring some of the best young drivers from around the country.

“We look forward to putting on a three-day show that will be unforgettable for our fans when we hit the streets on July 5-7.”

The NTI Townsville 500 is the biggest annual sporting event in North Queensland and has become a staple on the Australian sporting calendar since it began in 2009.

Now in its 15th year, the event will celebrate its 40th Supercars race. The first ever race in Townsville was won by Jamie Whincup.

General admission, corporate hospitality and grandstand tickets for the 2024 NTI Townsville 500 running July 5-7 are available through Supercars.com.

The NTI Townsville 500 is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.
