  • New-look Supercars points allocation for 2025

  • 300-point weekends return, but maximum points weighted to races

  • Nine rounds to host three or more races next season

New-look formats for the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship are set to debut with new round point scores, with points adjusted for race lengths.

As has been the case since 2008, drivers can score a maximum 300 points across a weekend, along with fastest lap bonus points, which have been on offer since 2021.

However, how drivers can score the 300 points on offer will change in 2025, with points adjusted to race lengths.

The single-race endurance events, set for The Bend and Bathurst in 2025, will still offer 300 for the winner, while the two-race rounds in Surfers Paradise and Sandown will also award 150 for the win.

The Sydney, Taupō, Tasmania, Perth, Darwin, Townsville, Ipswich and Adelaide events are all three-race rounds, with the four-race format returning for the Albert Park round.

For the first time, Sydney and Adelaide will stage a race on the Friday of the event, with the 100km Friday winner to claim 60 points, and the 200km Saturday and Sunday winners to take home 120 points.

Albert Park winners will receive 75 points, which has been the case since 2018.

The new Super440 format, which will be used at Taupō, Tasmania, Perth, Darwin and Ipswich, will award 80 points to the winner of the two 120km sprints, with the 200km Sunday refuelling race worth 140 points for the winner.

Finally, the VAILO Adelaide Grand Final, the first season finale under the new Finals Series format, will award 50 points for the 100km Friday winner, and 125 to the 250km Saturday and Sunday winners.

“The points are scaled to kilometres per race,” Edwards told Supercars.com.

“We will still have 300-point weekends, but for example, where you have three races in a weekend or two races in a weekend, it's all scaled to the kilometres.

“There are weekends where we’ll have two races, some you’ll have three, and four at the Grand Prix. And of course, winners of enduros will win 300 points."

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Sydney on February 21-23. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
