The build of the Adelaide Parklands Circuit is nearing completion ahead of its return to action.

The South Australian capital will host the VALO Adelaide 500 on December 1-4.

The first Adelaide 500 since February 2020 bodes to be one of the biggest in its history as a Supercars event.

The circuit recently underwent major resurfacing works, which was completed in late September.

More than 70 per cent of the circuit has been resurfaced, from the braking zone at Turn 9 through to the entry of Turn 7.

Record lap times are expected on the new surface.

In the weeks since resurface works completed, the circuit precinct has quickly come together.

Led by iEDM, grandstands and corporate hospitality structures have been built.

The pit lane building has also been built, complete with driver name boards above garages.

This year’s event will be Adelaide’s first as a Supercars season finale.

Adelaide previously ended Formula 1 seasons between 1985 and 1995 before the Grand Prix shifted to Melbourne.

Supercars seasons began in Adelaide between 1999 and 2020.

The 2022 event will also feature three nights of blockbuster entertainment.

This year’s concert acts include The Presets (Friday), Jimmy Barnes and Noiseworks (Saturday), and The Killers (Sunday),

Track action will commence on Thursday December 1.

Supercars will be on track on all four days of the event.
