Bathurst 12 Hour entry list revealed

A diverse entry list has been confirmed for the upcoming LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour.

The esteemed event will return this month after a two-year absence.

Drivers from Australia and around the world will go head-to-head at Mount Panorama on May 15.

The 2022 event will be the 11th edition of the race as an international GT3 enduro.

This year’s event includes 15 highly competitive entries in the Class A GT3 Pro-Am and GT3 Am categories.

Other cars will battle in the Porsche GT3 Cup and Invitational classes.

The race is also part of two key championships.

It will be the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS Endurance Championship opener.

It is also part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli.

The likes of Audi, Mercedes, Porsche and Lamborghini will go head-to-head for outright victory.

Triple Eight will field a car spearheaded by Supercars stars Shane van Gisbergen and Broc Feeney.

2020 12 Hour winner Jules Gounon is also part of Kenny Habul’s SunEnergy1 squad.

Audi will field seven 2022-specification R8 EVOs, with Great Race winners Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth forming part of its roster.

Bathurst winner Nick Percat also features in Audi’s line-up.

Father-son Grove duo, Stephen and Brenton, will be joined in a Porsche by Ben Barker.

A Lamborghini will also be raced by television presenter Grant Denyer and Carrera Cup champion David Wall.

Paul Martin, event motorsport operations manager, was keen to see the decorated field hit the track.

"Considering the challenging environment in which we are staging the race this year, we are pleased with the field,” Martin said.

"There was no shying away from the fact that this was going to be a challenging year to run the event.

“We were committed to putting on the show and we are confident that it will be a very good race based on the field we have.

"It might not be the largest field in Bathurst 12 Hour history; however, it is extremely high quality.

"The quality and depth of talent throughout the grid is already world class, with several of the key international names yet to be unveiled.

"There’s no doubt in our minds that this year will be another memorable chapter in the history of the Bathurst 12 Hour.”

Cars will hit the track next Friday, which will be headlined by a first-ever night practice.
