BJR confirms 2023 engineering line-up

Brad Jones Racing has locked in its four-pronged engineering line-up for the first Gen3 season.

Tony Woodward and Phil Keed will remain with Andre Heimgartner and Bryce Fullwood respectively.

With Paul Forgie shifting to Matt Stone Racing, Julian Stannard returns to a race engineering role.

Stannard will engineer the team’s #4 entry driven by Jack Smith.

A former engineer for Macauley Jones, Stannard was most recently a performance engineer.

Andrew Donnelly has been elevated to race engineer on the #96 Camaro.

Donnelly was most recently a data engineer at the Albury squad.

Team owner Brad Jones was happy to have a “known quantity” among his four cars into the Gen3 era.

“First of all, I’m thrilled to see Julian back in a race engineering capacity and look forward to seeing him at work on Gen3,” Jones said.

“Donners has also been a real asset to the team over the last few years and it’s an ideal time to be able to give him this opportunity.

“We have a mostly unchanged engineering crew, everyone is a known quantity within the team and we’re happy with where we are at, everyone gets on and there’s a good sense of camaraderie between the crew here.

“We’re all hands on deck trying to pull the Gen3 cars together and we’re overall in a good position with our build, we’ve made some great progress.”

Penrite Racing confirmed Wednesday that rookie Matt Payne will be engineered by Jack Bell.

There isn't expected to be change across the Tickford Racing entries, with Declan Fraser joining the team.

Geoffrey Slater and Sheldon Auhl are set to engineer James Golding and Tim Slade respectively at PremiAir Racing.
