Blanchard Racing Team the latest team to unveil Super2 livery
Bailey Sweeny joins BRT in #33 Mustang
Sweeny takes over chassis driven to Super2 wins by Aaron Love and Jack Perkins
Blanchard Racing Team have become the latest team to show off their livery for the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series, with new recruit Bailey Sweeny's Mustang hitting the track at Winton for a pre-season test today.
The 21-year-old from Batemans Bay on the South Coast of New South Wales becomes BRT's first full-time driver in the development series since Aaron Love in 2023, and will race the chassis campaigned by Jack Perkins for two rounds last year.
Perkins won races at both Townsville and Sandown, as well as claiming round honours at the former, whilst LOve also drove the same chassis to a race win at Bathurst in 2023.
A former Erebus Academy member, Sweeny made his Dunlop Series debut last year in an Image Racing VF Commodore in the Repco Bathurst 1000 Super3 round, finishing second for the round behind champion Cody Burcher.
Prior to his sole Super3 round last year, Sweeny also contested the TCR Australia Series, finishing third in 2023, and was also part of an Erebus-supported Toyota 86 program from 2020-2022, finishing fifth in his final year.
The #33 BRT Mustang features trademark branding from CoolDrive Auto Parts, although is running a reversed livery with a white base and blue accents, as opposed to the traditional blue base.
There are also some teal accents courtesy of Snowy River Caravans backing, with Racer Industries, Dayco, Super Spill & Safety Solutions, New Balance, Sparco, DesignEars, EventR and OG Gear also appearing on the car.
"The No. 33 BRT Mustang's new livery is truly outstanding,” said Sweeny.
“The crew has been working hard to fine tune the car and I can’t wait to get it on track and fight for top results in 2025,”
"Both the team and car are proven winners in the Super2 Series, and I'm eager to contribute to our history of success.”
With James Courtney retiring from full-time Supercars competition at the end of the season, Sweeny could establish himself as a strong candidate to replace the 2010 champion if he puts in some strong performances in Super2 this season.
2024 enduro recruit Aaron Cameron is also thought to be in the running for a full-time promotion in 2025, having impressed alongside Love in the enduros, and winning the Mike Kable Young Gun Award last year after falling just shy of the Super2 crown.
The 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series begins at the Thrifty Sydney 500 from February 21-23. Tickets are on sale now.
