Brodie Kostecki reveals one-off Gold Coast helmet
Bathurst winner’s new helmet to go under the hammer
New-look helmet to be handed over after Sunday race
Reigning Supercars and Bathurst champion Brodie Kostecki has revealed a one-off helmet for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
The new-look, multi-coloured helmet will be auctioned at the inaugural Motorsport Ministries Charity Auction this week.
It's a move away from the plain black look Kostecki has carried since he returned at the ITM Taupō 400 in April.
Kostecki follows the likes of Team 18 duo Mark Winterbottom and David Reynolds, who will compete at Surfers Paradise with special pink helmets to raise awareness for breast cancer.
The Erebus Motorsport driver will also compete with new naming rights and colours this weekend, with local business Hope Energy coming onboard.
Kostecki’s special helmet has been brought to life by Gold Coast-based international helmet painter Antman. Antman has designed helmets for the likes of Supercars stars Jamie Whincup, Chaz Mostert, Shane van Gisbergen, Tim Slade, James Courtney and Garth Tander.
Kostecki's helmet will only be used for practice, qualifying and the two races of the Gold Coast event before being handed to the new owner. The winning bidder will also have the chance to put their name or company name on the front of the helmet for the Sunday race of the Gold Coast event.
The auction is being hosted by Lloyds Auctions, and is part of the inaugural PIRTEK Legends Night, which will be held on the Gold Coast on Friday October 25.
At the time of publication, the current bid on Kostecki's helmet is in excess of $8300. Fans can bid on items now by clicking here.
Kostecki will resume his 2024 Repco Supercars Championship campaign at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 on October 25-27. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
