There have been several changes with regards to race numbers for the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship.

Not only will there be four new drivers this season, but there will be four new numbers.

The #1 will be absent for a fourth straight season, with reigning champion Shane van Gisbergen retaining his #97.

The #55, which was absent on a full-time basis in 2021, returns with Thomas Randle and Tickford Racing.

His fellow Tickford teammate Jake Kostecki will race with the 56 this season, a number he used in the 2019 enduros as a wildcard.

James Courtney takes the #5 from Jack Le Brocq at Tickford, with the #44 disappearing off the grid.

The other two new numbers for 2022 are the #10, which will be used by Lee Holdsworth, and Garry Jacobson's #76.

PremiAir Racing driver Jacobson will don the #76 his father Peter carried to great success in speedway.

The #76 replaces the #19 used by Tekno and Team Sydney between 2010 and 2021.

Holdsworth, who won Bathurst with Walkinshaw Andretti United, takes the #10 at Grove Racing after the team benched Todd Kelly's #7.

It will return the #10 to the grid on a full-time basis for the first time since 2010.

Andre Heimgartner takes the #8 at Brad Jones Racing from Nick Percat, who takes the #2 at WAU from Bryce Fullwood.

The #76 is one of four new numbers in 2022

Fullwood takes the #14 at BJR from Todd Hazelwood, who assumes the #35 at Matt Stone Racing.

Hazelwood used the #35 in his successful Super2 campaign with MSR in 2017. Le Brocq will use the #34.

Perhaps the most significant number change in 2022 is Broc Feeney taking the #88 from the retired Jamie Whincup.

Whincup, who quit full-time racing at the end of 2021, used the #88 for nine seasons.

He scored 47 of his 124 career race wins, won three titles, recorded 31 poles and led over 2800 laps with the #88.

The new-look grid will be on show at next weekend's Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight. CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.
