The final countdown to the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 has begun.
On the eve of racing returning to the streets of Surfers Paradise, cars from each category have gathered on the iconic circuit.
For the first time since 2019, Supercars will be on track alongside three premier support categories; Porsche Carrera Cup, V8 SuperUtes and S5000.
The event will also host the return of a fan favourite - the Boost Mobile Challenge.
Examples from each category lined up near the beachside chicane on Thursday, less than one day out from three days of motorsport action.
On track activities will kick off on Friday October 28, leading up to the Repco Supercars Championship drivers tackling dual 250km races across Saturday and Sunday.
This weekend marks S5000’s debut on the Gold Coast, heralding the return of open-wheel racing to Surfers Paradise.
Famous for hosting IndyCar in the 1990s and 2000s, the Surfers Paradise circuit will once again roar with the sound of thunderous five-litre, V8 engines of open wheelers.
Gold Coast local and Boost Mobile-backed driver Brodie Kostecki hailed the return of open wheel Surfers racing.
“It's great to have the S5000s here as well as some of our regular categories,” Kostecki said.
“There's plenty of racing going on for all the fans.
“Sitting in the grandstand is going to be pretty hot, but there'll be always something going on on-track.”
Support categories will hit the track from 10:30am AEST on Friday, kicking off with the Haltech V8 SuperUtes.
S5000 drivers will complete their first 20-minute practice session from 11.00am AEST.
Erebus Motorsport’s Will Brown will make his full-time Supercars debut on the Surfers Paradise streets this weekend.
The Boost Mobile-backed driver co-drove with Anton De Pasquale in 2018 and 2019.
“The Gold Coast has been probably my favourite event since I started in Supercars,” Brown said.
“It's probably the track that ended up getting me my main series drive, as I had a really good run here in 2019.
“It's just awesome, if you don't take a mirror off around here in qualifying or even the race, you're really not trying hard enough.
“It’s an amazing track and probably the hardest on our calendar.
“I really hope I make the top 10 shootout this weekend, it would be awesome to run in that, but the atmosphere as well, it’s amazing.”
Fans will be able to meet their favourite driver ahead of the weekend’s action, with the ‘Drivers Sunset Signing Session’ to be held in the heart of the Gold Coast.
The signing session will take place on the iconic Surfers Paradise Esplanade from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday October 27.
The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will be held 28-30 October and broadcast live on Fox Sports and the Seven Network.
Tickets are now available through Supercars.com and Ticketek.
