Erebus Motorsport has confirmed the sale of its Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 Supercar.
The team completed the official handover at Winton Motor Raceway on Tuesday.
The car has been purchased by Penrite Oil.
The car, SBR25-EM-03-12, was backed by Penrite towards the end of the 2015 season.
The company remained with Erebus until the end of 2020, notably sponsoring the team's Bathurst-winning 2017 effort.
The Mercedes Supercar has been restored to the same specification it raced in 2015.
Erebus campaigned Mercedes cars between its 2013 debut and 2016 before shifting to Holden.
The car at Winton on Tuesday
Erebus driver Brodie Kostecki, who finished seventh overall in 2022, clocked laps aboard the car at Winton on Tuesday morning.
It then went home with its new owners, where it will now be displayed by Penrite in the Lane 88 Auto Museum.
It will join part of a private collection of vehicles owned by the Dymond Family.
Erebus CEO Barry Ryan was excited to see part of the team's history go to a new home.
“It’s been a great experience for the team to rebuild and restore this particular vehicle that has so much history within our team and the sport as a whole,” Ryan said.
“With the original engine and panels from the white retro livery, the car has been restored to the same condition it was when it completed the Sydney 500 back in 2015.
“It was nice to see the car back on track this morning for the last time and it was a great experience for Brodie to relive a part of Erebus’ history.”

There are intentions for the car to be used in special demonstrations.
The sale comes as Erebus makes space in its Melbourne-based workshop for its new Gen3 Chevrolet Camaros.
“With the arrival of our Gen3 Camaros, it felt like the right time to say goodbye to one of these vehicles," Ryan said.
"We’re pleased that it will be displayed and celebrated by its major sponsor at the time.
“It’s an exciting time for Supercars right now and we’re looking forward to the new generation of Supercars hitting the track at Newcastle in the very near future."
Erebus will continues its Gen3 builds into the summer before testing commences in early February.
The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle next March.
