The legacy of the #88 and Jamie Whincup will live on, with Broc Feeney to race with the number in 2022.
Red Bull Ampol Racing took the covers off the car Feeney and reigning Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen will race in 2022.
There, 2021 Super2 champion Feeney was unveiled in his new suit next to the famous #88, which Whincup carried to great success.

Whincup ran the #88 for his entire Triple Eight career bar the seasons he carried the champion's #1.
In nine seasons with the #88 on the window, Whincup scored 47 of his 124 career race wins, or 38 per cent of his career wins tally.
He won the 2008, 2011 and 2017 titles, recorded 31 poles and led over 2800 laps with the number.
Whincup won four titles (2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014) and 70 races with the #1, helping it become the most successful number of all time.
Seven race wins came with the team's famous #888, including three Bathurst 1000 victories between 2006 and 2008, and a Sandown 500 win in 2019.
Triple Eight began using the #88 in 2004, having finished 2003 with the #65 and #66 after it bought out Briggs Motor Sport.

Save for use by Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport in 2013, the #88 has been with Triple Eight ever since.
In 2022, the number has been handed to Feeney, who has just two main game starts to his name.
"The first time I saw the car in the workshop with 88 and 'Feeney' on it was pretty surreal," the teenager said.
"It was sitting in the bay that JDub's [Jamie Whincup] car usually is, but to see my name on it and all the partners that Red Bull Ampol Racing represent is pretty cool.
"I knew six months ago that the deal was done, but to finally see my name on the side of the car, and to know we're only a few weeks away from racing is so exciting."
Whincup, who raced the number to some of his greatest successes, was excited to hand it over to his new starlet.
A new driver and a new era for the #88
"I'm thrilled to finally see Broc's name alongside #88 on this year's car," said Whincup, who is the team's new team principal and managing director.
"I'm excited to see him begin his journey with Red Bull Ampol Racing.
"We're not here to make up the numbers this year, that's for sure.
"We have two reigning champions in the seats of our cars, and we once again occupy the first two garages of pit lane.
"So it's up to us to work hard as a team and ensure our drivers dig deep and achieve the best results possible in 2022."
