Scott McLaughlin has teased he will make an appearance at a Supercars round this year.

The three-time Supercars champion posted a photo of a Supercars Media lanyard to his social accounts on Saturday.

It came before McLaughlin’s former team headed to victory lane via Will Davison at Pukekohe.

Davison won the ITM Auckland SuperSprint opener in the #17, something McLaughlin achieved in 2018 and 2019.

Now IndyCar driver McLaughlin recently secured a new deal with Team Penske.

McLaughlin’s photo features his headshot on an official Supercars accreditation pass.

The pass is titled ‘Supercars Media’, suggesting McLaughlin could be part of the broadcast team.

McLaughlin’s 2022 IndyCar campaign will end at Laguna Seca this weekend.

The Kiwi is one of five drivers in mathematical contention to win the title.

The 2019 Bathurst winner has won three IndyCar races this season.

There are three Supercars events after this weekend’s ITM Auckland SuperSprint.

The Repco Bathurst 1000 is the next stop on the calendar on October 6-9.

The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and VALO Adelaide 500 will round out the season.

An announcement on McLaughlin is expected tomorrow.

A McLaughlin racing return has been put on ice until 2023, with the Kiwi focusing on his IndyCar commitments.

The ITM Auckland SuperSprint will conclude with two 41-lap sprints in Sunday.
