PremiAir Racing has confirmed it has parted ways with Garry Jacobson, effective immediately.
Jacobson's exit from the team was announced just two days after the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown.
There, he raced to finishes of 22nd, 18th and 22nd.
Through six rounds, Jacobson is 24th in the standings.
His 2022 highlight came at Albert Park, where he recorded three top 10 finishes.
PremiAir Racing has yet to announce a replacement driver, with the NTI Townsville 500 less than three weeks away.
"PremiAir Racing wishes to confirm that effective immediately, Garry Jacobson and PremiAir Racing have parted ways," the statement reads.
Jacobson recently on track in Darwin
"Jacobson’s contract has been officially ended this afternoon (21 June 2022), and PremiAir Racing is exploring its options regarding a replacement driver for the #76 Subway PremiAir Racing Supercar.
"Announcements regarding the new driver for the #76 will be made at the earliest possible opportunity.
"PremiAir Racing will be making no further comment regarding Garry’s departure and wishes him well for his future endeavours."
Jacobson joined what is now known as PremiAir Racing ahead of the 2021 season.
He raced alongside Fabian Coulthard under the team’s previous Team Sydney guise.
The 2016 Super2 champion remained through the team’s change of ownership to Peter Xiberras.
Jacobson and Chris Pither formed PremiAir Racing’s maiden Supercars driver line-up.
The Merlin Darwin Triple Crown was Jacobson's 50th Supercars round start.
His first full-time season came with Kelly Racing in 2019, before he moved to Matt Stone Racing in 2020.
The Victorian made his main game debut for Prodrive Racing Australia in the 2017 enduros.
It was with Prodrive, now known as Tickford Racing, that he also won the 2016 Super2 title.
PremiAir Racing is now on the hunt for a replacement driver, with Zane Goddard and Kurt Kostecki both linked to the drive.
Goddard, a former MSR teammate of Jacobson's, recently tested a PremiAir Commodore.
Super2 drivers Cameron Hill and Tyler Everingham, along with Carrera Cup driver Harri Jones, also tested with the team.
Goddard and Kostecki are contracted to Tickford for the 2022 enduros, but haven't been assigned to cars.
