PremiAir Racing has shifted James Golding into a different chassis for Adelaide after his Gold Coast crash.

Golding was involved in a multi-car pile-up at the beach chicane early in the Sunday race.

The Subway Commodore tripped over a tyre bundle, sending Golding spinning in front of the field.

The #31 Commodore, chassis 888A-044, picked up major front-end damage.

The team, based in nearby Arundel, quickly moved to assess the wreckage after the race.

Golding picked up a minor wrist sprain and will be fit and ready for the VALO Adelaide 500.

Team Principal Matt Cook confirmed the chassis swap to Supercars.com.

Fire erupts as multiple cars wrecked in huge crash

Chassis 888A-044, Golding's regular car, won't be repaired in time for the December 1-4 Adelaide round.

Golding will instead steer chassis 888A-053, which was raced by Craig Lowndes and Declan Fraser in Bathurst.

Lowndes and Fraser carried the car, a Triple Eight wildcard, to eighth in the Repco Bathurst 1000.

It marked the best ever wildcard result at Mount Panorama.

The crash didn't deter PremiAir Racing, which later announced Golding's re-signing with the team.

Chris Pither later finished a standout ninth in the Gold Coast race, marking his best result to date with the Holden team.

Peter Xiberras' squad will be represented by Golding and new recruit Tim Slade in 2023.

Prior to the crash, Golding helped PremiAir Racing reach its first ever ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout.

It came after Golding, along with Dylan O'Keeffe, nearly helped PremiAir Racing to a debut Bathurst top 10 finish.

The Victorian scored his first top 10 race result for PremiAir Racing at Sandown.

PremiAir Racing will make its Adelaide debut at next month's 2022 season finale.
