The Repco Supercars Championship is set to return to New Zealand in 2022 after a two-year absence.

The ITM Auckland SuperSprint features on the 13-event 2022 draft calendar, which was released on Sunday.

Pukekohe Park Raceway will be the venue of the event, having hosted the first ever international round in 2001.

The 2022 event is set to be held across September 10-11, and will be the final round before the Repco Bathurst 1000.

One of New Zealand’s largest annual sporting events, the ITM Auckland SuperSprint will be the first event in the country since September 2019.

The 2022 event will be the 20th championship round in New Zealand, and the 15th at the popular Pukekohe venue.

The Hamilton Street Circuit hosted racing between 2008 and 2012.

New Zealand went without an event in 2020 and 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

2022 Repco Supercars Championship will be the first under Supercars' new ownership group Racing Australia Consolidated Enterprises Ltd (RACE).

The Repco Bathurst 1000 will conclude the 2021 season, with the 161-lap race to commence at 2:15pm New Zealand time on Sunday.

Supercars will return to the track on Sunday for the Warm Up at 9:10am AEDT.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 503) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event.
