Supercars is committed to delivering the Adelaide 500 in December amid the recent South Australian election result.

Earlier this year, SA Labor Leader Peter Malinauskas pledged the event would return should Labor win the election.

Incoming Premier Malinauskas mooted a December 1-4 date for the event, which would end the 2022 season.

The Adelaide 500, long the Supercars season-opening event, was last held in early 2020.

"We congratulate Peter Malinauskas and his team on their victory in the South Australian election," Supercars CEO Shane Howard said.

"We now look forward to working together to deliver the Adelaide 500 on the streets of Adelaide in December in what will be a spectacular season finale."

The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will resume next weekend in Tasmania.
