Reinforcing the commitment made by team owner Charlie Schwerkolt in late 2020, his team is set to run Camaros in 2022.

Team 18 has fielded Holden Commodores in the Supercars Championship since 2015, expanding to a two-car outfit in 2020.

The team will continue to represent General Motors in the championship for the eighth straight season in 2022 while staying with a two-car model.

Gen3 homologation team for the Supercars project, Triple Eight has confirmed it’ll field its own Camaro entries.

Camaro is a logical option for other current Holden teams and in particular, Schwerkolt, whose squad runs customer Triple Eight equipment.

The renders, created by renowned livery designer Nick Moss, replicate the team’s current liveries with Mark Winterbottom’s #18 IRWIN Racing and Scott Pye’s #20 DEWALT Racing Holden ZB Commodores.

Team 18 already has Mark Winterbottom locked in for 2022, with contract negotiations reportedly underway with DEWALT racer Scott Pye.

It comes after Kelly Grove Racing committed to running Ford Mustangs for the 2022 season, and Erebus Motorsport announced it would field Camaros under Gen3 regulations.

Supercars has confirmed in June the Gen3 race cars are targeted for inclusion in the Repco Supercars Championship in August 2022.
