Transporter parade, signing sessions return for Adelaide fans

The 2022 VALO Adelaide 500 is just days away, with two fan-favourite events set to make their return to the race week festivities. 

After a long hiatus, Supercars’ iconic Transporter Parade will make its way through Adelaide’s CBD streets to mark its official arrival in town on Tuesday, November 29.

The fan-favourite Supercars driver signing session will also return for Adelaide fans just one day out from the event.

Tickets for the VALO Adelaide 500 are on sale now.

The all-in autograph session will be held at Rundle Mall for the first time in over seven years on Wednesday, November 30. 

Held between 12.00pm and 1.00pm local time, the signing session will double as a celebration to farewell Holden and Ford’s fierce rivalry, with the VALO Adelaide 500 marking Holden’s final outing in Supercars.

A display of Supercars and support category cars that will line up on the grid at the VALO Adelaide 500 will also feature at the signing session event. 

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot in the line and don their favourite Holden and Ford merchandise to show their true colours as the sport’s iconic rivalry draws to a close. 

Hometown hero Tim Slade welcomed the return of the popular events for fans.

“It’s clear this year’s VALO Adelaide 500 is a return to the event’s glory days," Slade said.

“The driver signing session in Rundle Mall was an iconic event on the Adelaide 500 schedule for many years and it’s fantastic to see it make its return for Adelaideans to enjoy again.

“South Australians are so passionate about this race and I think I can speak for all drivers when I say we can’t wait to be back amongst it for the VALO Adelaide 500 next week.”

The VALO Adelaide 500 will officially kick into gear as the Supercars Transporter Parade embarks on its journey through Adelaide on Tuesday.

Special guests will feature in the parade including South Australian driver Todd Hazelwood and motorsport commentator Matt Naulty, aboard the VALO Adelaide 500 Ford Mustang. 

Taking time out of his busy schedule in the lead-up to Christmas, Santa will also ride shotgun in the Supercars Safety Car as the teams are welcomed to town.

The multi-million dollar procession of B-double transporters will commence their journey from 2:15pm ACDT and travel along Port Wakefield Road, Main North Road, Fitzroy Terrace, Park Terrace, Port Road, North Terrace and King William Street before passing Victoria Square, which will offer a fantastic vantage point of the procession. 

The parade will conclude as the transporters arrive at the Adelaide Parklands Street Circuit and take up their positions in the Supercars paddock for the VALO Adelaide 500.

For fans heading to the Adelaide Parklands Circuit, the Supercars paddock will be open to fans who have purchased a Paddock Pass for the four-day event.

Autograph sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday at the circuit.

Friday’s signing session will feature Shell V-Power Racing duo Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison, along with Red Bull Ampol Racing teammates Shane van Gisbergen and Broc Feeney.

The trackside signing session will take place on the Entertainment Stage in the Adelaide 500 Activation Zone from 3:00pm to 3:30pm local time on Friday December 2.

The second trackside signing session will be held on Saturday morning, with the Tickford Racing quartet of James Courtney, Cam Waters, Thomas Randle and Jake Kostecki.

Team 18 crowd-favourites Mark Winterbottom and Scott Pye will also be greeting fans, along with Brad Jones Racing and Erebus Motorsport.

Saturday’s trackside signing session will take place on the Entertainment Stage in the Adelaide 500 Activation Zone from 9:30am to 10:00am local time on Saturday December 3.

The Dunlop Super2 Series, which has unearthed many stars of the future, will also hold an autograph session on Saturday.

The Super2 trackside signing session will take place on the Entertainment Stage in the Adelaide 500 Activation Zone from 11:50am to 12:20pm local time.

The VALO Adelaide 500 will take place from December 1-4, 2022. Tickets are now on sale via Ticketek
