David Wall will make his first Great Race start since 2017, with the veteran called up to replace Ash Walsh at Brad Jones Racing.
BJR confirmed Tuesday that Wall will share the #4 SCT Logistics Commodore with Jack Smith at the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Walsh has been forced to withdraw amid Queensland border restrictions complications.
Wall, 38, is a veteran of 69 round starts and 151 races.
He completed a stint as a BJR co-driver in 2010 and 2011 before competing as a full-time driver for the team in 2012 and 2013.
This December's race will be Wall's 10th Bathurst start, and first since he finished 13th alongside Rick Kelly in 2017. It remains his best Bathurst finish.
He is currently fourth overall in the ongoing Carrera Cup season, 131 points behind series leader Cameron Hill.
Wall will get behind the wheel of the #4 entry at the test day at Sydney Motorsport Park on Tuesday.
"I’m really happy to be joining Brad Jones Racing, SCT Logistics, Jack and Paul Forgie," Wall said.
"It’s a unique situation and timeframe and I’ll be joining the team for the co-driver test day today and the session at the Sydney SuperNight event this weekend.
"I’ll need to get my head around racing a Supercar again but I’m really looking forward to the challenge at hand and competing at the biggest race of the year with Brad Jones Racing and SCT.”
Wall scored a Gold Coast podium in 2016
Walsh added: "It’s a shame that the QLD border restrictions are forcing our hands on this but spending a month or so away just meant it’s unfortunately not possible for me to participate this year.
"I wish Jack, David and the team well and all the very best for Bathurst. I’ll be cheering them on from QLD."
The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will resume this weekend at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.
Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and streamed on Kayo.
The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event.
Tickets for the event are on sale now.
