The Repco Supercars Championship returns to Victoria for this weekend’s ninth round of the 2022 season – the Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint.

It will be the 52nd ATCC/Supercars round at the Melbourne circuit.

Event track action will be spread over three days, with Supercars featuring on each day.

With just two days until the cars hit the track for Practice 1 at Sandown, Supercars.com has listed some answers to key questions ahead of the event.

The Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint will be a three-day event held across August 19-21.

The race weekend will feature three 36-lap races, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Every session of event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and will be streamed on Kayo, with the Seven Network airing highlights packages on both days. Check out the full TV schedule here.

There will be a bumper support line-up, headlined by the Dunlop Super2 Series, Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup, Gazoo Toyota 86 Series, and Aussie Race Cars. The full weekend schedule can be viewed here.

The Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint will be staged in accordance with all applicable government regulations, including those responding to COVID-19, as well as a detailed COVIDSafe Event Plan prepared by Supercars and approved by government, and we can provide the following information for fans to assist with their preparation for the event.

The venue will be divided into four zones: a Grandstand zone, two Park & View zones and a Pit Paddock zone. Download the Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint Map here.

There will be food and beverage outlets in each of the zones as well as full amenities.

There will also be a selection of merchandise stalls in the Grandstand zone.

Please be courteous when queuing for entry/exit, for food and beverages or for merchandise purchases and always keep 1.5 metres from other patrons.

Do not bring cash; this is a cashless event.

Paddock access is available for Accredited staff, teams and contractors plus patrons who have purchased a paddock pass. Purchase a Paddock Pass here.

Visit the Supercars Paddock on Saturday and Sunday for the opportunity to meet your favourite Supercars drivers and get a personally signed poster.

On Saturday each driver will appear in the Merchandise area in the Grandstand Zone at 2:45pm AEST.

On Sunday each driver will appear at the back of their garage for half an hour from 9:25am AEST.

Biggest ever crashes at Sandown Raceway

Children aged 12 and under are free to enter the venue in general admission areas; however, they must be always accompanied by their ticket-holding parent or guardian. Children require tickets for hospitality and grandstand areas.

The corporate experience facilities are located within the Grandstand zone and guests are instructed to enter via Gate 2.

There will be food and beverage outlets located around the venue, as indicated on the Track Map. Merchandise stalls will be located within the Grandstand zone.

Supercars will hit the Sandown International Raceway circuit for the first of three 30-minute practice sessions at 1:10pm AEDT on Friday. Check out the full weekend schedule here.

Friday action will include the first and only Additional Driver session of the season.

Bathurst co-drivers will cut their only event laps before October's Repco Bathurst 1000 starting at 3:20pm AEST.

If you are a General Admission ticket-holder, you can upgrade your experience with Park and View access. Purchase here. 

Park and View access is available on Saturday and Sunday only. Access is located at Gates 6B and 8.

General admission access to the event is through Gate 2 and Gate 3 for pedestrians. 

Gates open at 7:00am AEST on Friday and Saturday, and 8:30am AEST on Sunday.

Sandown Raceway is located in the residential suburb of Springvale, just 28kms south-east of the Melbourne CBD.

Free car parking is available near Gate 2, 6B and on the Southern end of the circuit near the Railway Station. 

Car parks will be filled on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Electronic signage will be updated when car parks have reached full capacity.

Please follow all signage and the directions of traffic controllers, who will direct you to the nearest available car park. Car parking is accessible off Racecourse Drive, from Princes Highway and Allister Road, from Corrigan Road.

Event organisers encourage attendees to stay COVID Safe by washing their hands as often as possible and keeping a safe distance from others.

As with all events, patrons must not attend if feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

The event is being broadcast exclusively live and ad free on Foxtel and streamed live on Kayo across August 19-21.

The Seven Network will show highlights on Saturday and Sunday.
