Chaz Mostert is set to shake down a new Walkinshaw Andretti United Ford Mustang this week, ahead of its debut in the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.

Mostert has raced chassis WR28 since the beginning of the 2023 season, carrying the car to three wins this year.

WR28 was put up for auction after the 2024 Penrite Oil Sandown 500, with the successful bidder to take delivery of the car by the end of 2025.

Two-time Bathurst winner Mostert soared into title contention midway through 2024 with WR28, winning in Perth and Sydney to sit just 81 points behind eventual champion Will Brown before the enduros.

Mostert, who finished third in this year's championship, will tackle the new season with a new Ford, chassis WR29, before WAU switches to Toyota in 2026.

The two-time Bathurst winner won't be the first star to race in 2025 with a new car, with Triple Eight Race Engineering set to hand champion Will Brown new machinery. Brodie Kostecki, meanwhile, will race an Erebus-build chassis in his first season with Dick Johnson Racing.

Mostert is set to shake down his new car at Winton Motor Raceway on Thursday, with a number of teams hitting the track this weekend.

Triple Eight, DJR, Matt Stone Racing and PremiAir Nulon Racing all hit Queensland Raceway on Tuesday for ride days.

Penrite Racing, meanwhile, will share Winton with WAU on Thursday. The Grove squad will complete a rookie day for Matt Payne, with incoming 2025 driver Kai Allen to undertake an evaluation in the team's #26 entry.

Allen received dispensation to drive the #26 in the final race of the season at the VAILO Adelaide 500, with outgoing driver Richie Stanaway ruled out with concussion.

As revealed last week, two Supercars will also hit the track at The Bend Motorsport Park for category testing on December 12.

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will commence at the opening round in Sydney on February 21-23. Tickets are on sale now.
