Penrite Racing and Brad Jones Racing will repair their respective damaged cars in time for Surfers Paradise.

Matt Campbell and Dale Wood collided with Zane Goddard at The Chase on lap 5 in Bathurst.

Goddard lost control through the muddy grass and slid into the path of oncoming traffic.

Wood was sent airborne and spinning down the track after clipping Goddard.

Campbell, meanwhile, made heavy front-to-rear contact with Goddard's #5 Snowy Rivers Mustang.

It meant James Courtney, David Reynolds and Andre Heimgartner were all unable to compete in the race.

Tickford Racing confirmed Wednesday that Courtney will be shifted into a spare chassis for the October 28-30 Gold Coast event.

The Courtney entry suffered damage on almost all corners of the car, adding to an already painful year for the #5 crew.

Courtney previously picked up major damage at Winton, Darwin and Pukekohe.

The Heimgartner/Wood car largely suffered cosmetic damage, but it was severe enough to take the car out of the race.

A Brad Jones Racing spokesperson confirmed Thursday that the #8 Commodore will be turned around for the Gold Coast round.

It comes just two months after a Tailem Bend start-line crash for Heimgartner forced the team to write-off the damaged chassis.

Heimgartner was shifted into a spare, which he carried to dual podiums in New Zealand.

That leaves the #26 Ford, which picked up up major damage at both ends.

Penrite Racing Team Principal David Cauchi said chassis rails were damaged, but the chassis itself is repairable.

It is already on the jig at nearby Kelly Racing facilities.

"The chassis has front-right rail damage," Cauchi told Supercars.com.

"That rail has to be replaced. Both rear rails have had to be replaced.

"But the chassis damage wasn't too significant, in a lot of ways.

"The impact was mostly in the centre of the car and in the right rear."

Remarkably, the radiator wrapped around the engine, which also sustained damage in the impact.

Campbell managed to walk away from the incident, as did Goddard and Wood.

However, Cauchi revealed the #26's damaged motor will also require repairs, given it is the team's preferred engine for the car.

"All of the intake, airbox, radiator, that was wrapped around the engine," Cauchi said.

"The engine has taken some damage and is back at Walkinshaw... that was a fresh engine for Bathurst.

"We want to get that back into the car for the Gold Coast.

"I've never seen a radiator wrapped that far around an engine in my time.

"It was pretty significant... but luckily Matt Campbell was able to get out of the car unhurt.

"Everything did its job in that regard."

The 2022 season will continue at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 on October 28-30.
