Supercars will enhance the return of night racing in Sydney with spectacular pre-race introductions and post-race fireworks.

This weekend's Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight is the only night racing round of the season, and opens up several opportunities to create an unmissable spectacle.

Among the initiatives for this weekend's event is a pre-race ceremony before Saturday night's Race 15, where drivers will be introduced to the fans on the front straight.

Drivers will be showcased to fans with jets of fire, smoke, lighting and music, setting the stage for a thrilling 200km race under Sydney's night skies.

The driver intros initiative was a key part of the 2018 Sydney event, and the man behind it, Supercars' broadcast boss Nathan Prendergast, is excited to bring the pyrotechnics back again.

"Racing under lights gives us a unique opportunity to do something special for the crowd," Prendergast told Supercars.com.

"Driver intros are a chance for us to bring the sport closer to the fans, and showcase the sport's heroes.

"Sydney is unique with the big grandstand, which creates a great atmosphere, and an epic amphitheatre for the action.

"Night racing is already an awesome spectacle, and through the use of lighting and pyro, we're excited to put on a memorable show for everyone."

The first night race, Race 15, will commence at 7:35pm. The 51-lapper will he held following sunset under darkness, with the winner to be greeted by fireworks as he flies down the pit straight.

Sunday's Race 16 will commence at 4:05pm, with drivers racing into twilight under lights.

Support categories in action at the Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight will include Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, V8 SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, and TGRA GR Cup.

Tickets for the Sydney event can be purchased via Supercars.com. The event will be broadcast exclusively live and ad free on Foxtel and Kayo. Highlights will be broadcast on the Seven Network and 7plus. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
