Sandown coming to iRacing

Sandown International Raceway will become the latest iconic Australian circuit to join the iRacing platform.

The historic Melbourne venue will join Winton Motor Raceway, Mount Panorama, Phillip Island and Oran Park Circuit as part of an exciting Australian-focused content project.

The Melbourne-based circuit will be available for purchase by all iRacing users on June 7, with Supercars for AI play enabled.

The announcement comes ahead of the commencement of the 2022 Cash Converters Supercars Eseries, which will begin on Wednesday July 20.

Cash Converters Eseries is back in 2022

The six-round series is based on the popular iRacing platform and will feature races running on Wednesday nights from July 20 to August 24.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Sandown International Raceway to iRacing’s extensive list of licensed content,” said iRacing executive producer Greg Hill.

“Our Australian userbase has been an important part of our growth for quite some time, and we’re excited to welcome the long time home of one of Supercars’ most popular events.

“We’re looking forward to adding it to our Supercars calendars each season, as well as those for a number of other popular iRacing series!”

In 2022, the Supercars Eseries will feature two endurance events and one Fans’ Choice in the series that will combine Supercars' main game drivers and pro gamers.

Those events will be virtual races at the famous Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst and for the first time, the historic Sandown circuit.

Also joining the competition in 2022 will be Victoria’s Winton circuit, which has recently been added to the iRacing online platform.

Australian fans also have the chance to score an Eseries drive with the Pizza Hut Pro Eseries Driver Search competition hosted on the popular sim racing platform.

The winning driver will compete for Pizza Hut Racing in all six rounds of the 2022 Pro Series Supercars Eseries. For more information click here.

The Melbourne-based Sandown Raceway has been in operation since 1962, and has hosted endurance and sprint events in Supercars.

Last year’s Penrite Oil Sandown SuperSprint saw an incredible clean sweep by championship leader Shane van Gisbergen, who is also an experienced online racer.

The Eseries will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 506, Kayo, 7Plus, and Sky New Zealand, as well as streamed on Supercars’ Twitch, Facebook and YouTube channels.
