Tickford, WAU closing in on 300 Supercars podiums
WAU could also become fourth team to record 100 poles
DJR two away from 150 Supercars race victories
Tickford Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United and Dick Johnson Racing will all have a shot at creating their own pieces of Supercars history when the 2025 season gets underway in Sydney.
The Sydney 500 - Opening Round on February 21-23 will be comprised of three races, with a 100km sprint to be followed by dual 200km refuelling races.
Tickford and WAU are both on the cusp of joining Triple Eight Race Engineering and Dick Johnson Racing in recording 300 ATCC/Supercars podiums, and could get there in Sydney.
Tickford ended the 2024 season on 299 podiums, and reaching in 300 in Sydney could be a formality if Cam Waters and Thomas Randle can replicate their speed from last year's Sydney round.
As Ford Performance Racing, Tickford didn't have to wait long to claim its first podium, which came in a victory for Craig Lowndes at a sodden Phillip Island in 2003.
Lowndes' victory was the first of 87 wins for the team, which won the 2013 and 2014 Bathurst 1000s, and 2015 drivers' championship.
WAU, meanwhile, will need double podiums in each race to leave Sydney on 300 podiums. Chaz Mostert did, however, win both Sydney races last year, with Ryan Wood topping practice.
WAU, which will switch to Toyota in 2026, also starts the year on 98 pole positions. Only Triple Eight (168), DJR (146) and Tickford (110) have more than the team formerly known as the Holden Racing Team.
DJR, which has had a lean start to the Gen3 era, could also join Triple Eight (262) and WAU (191) in becoming the first team to reach 150 ATCC/Supercars race wins.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team, which has recruited Brodie Kostecki, starts 2025 on 148 wins, but has only reached victory lane once in 52 starts in the Gen3 era.
Cars will hit the track for practice, qualifying and Race 1 of the new season at the Sydney 500 - Opening Round on February 21, followed by dual 200km races across Saturday February 22 and Sunday February 23.
