The Repco Supercars Championship will celebrate its long-awaited return to Queensland Raceway with a free community event in the heart of the city on the eve of next month’s Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440.

On Thursday August 7, the Nicholas Street Precinct in Ipswich CBD will play host to a special fan event from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, giving locals the chance to get up close and personal with their favourites.

All 26 Supercars drivers competing in the final round of the Repco Sprint Cup will be in attendance, along with Australian Superbikes riders, who will also be on track across the weekend.

A free autograph session will take place from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, while fans can also enjoy:

  • Supercars and Superbikes on display

  • Local car club showcase

  • Driver simulators

  • Food vans

  • SuperKids Zone

  • Live music

  • Prize giveaways

Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 Event Manager Matt Gegg said: “The free event promises fun for the whole family and is a unique opportunity for fans to meet their favourite drivers and riders before the action begins at Queensland Raceway.”

The Ipswich SuperSprint takes place August 8-10. Tickets are on sale now at Supercars.com.

Camping is available within walking distance of the circuit through the Queensland Raceway website and Supercars.com

The event is the final round of the Repco Sprint Cup. The driver who finishes atop the leaderboard after the event will be the first to book their spot in the inaugural Supercars’ Finals Series which begins on the Gold Coast in October.

Gold Coast’s Broc Feeney holds a commanding 220-point lead over his Red Bull Chevrolet teammate Will Brown heading into the Century Batteries Ipswich Super440, which runs August 8-10 at Queensland Raceway.
