Walkinshaw Andretti United will roll out a pair of new liveries in Sydney, with a nod to recent history and a tribute to a long-time partner.

After running two predominately white liveries at the first four rounds, both WAU Fords will carry black schemes at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood Mustangs will also sport a special gold theme, celebrating Mobil 1’s 50th anniversary.

The iconic Mobil 1 logo, on the bonnets of the two cars, has been turned gold. Also included is Mobil 1’s historic Pegasus, the horse with wings, above the Mobil 1 logo on the bonnet.

As stated by WAU, it's the first time the Pegasus been seen on a Walkinshaw car since 1999. Mobil 1 has been associated with the Walkinshaw team since the 1990s, when it debuted as the Holden Racing Team.

Mobil 1 currently has co-naming rights of Mostert’s Optus Ford and Wood’s Truck Assist entry.

WAU managed to pull together a three-day wrap, given the team had just three days in the workshop between Townsville and Sydney. The Mostert and Wood cars previously carried Indigenous liveries in Darwin and Townsville.

“It’s a privilege to run the special Mobil 1 50 years livery this weekend, the gold looks fantastic, and under lights it’s going to look even better,” WAU CEO Bruce Stewart said.

"It’s also awesome to have Pegasus on the bonnet of both cars as well, we haven’t seen it since 1999 on our cars, I think it’s going to be extremely nostalgic for a lot of fans.

“The Mobil 1 logo is iconic with this team, and iconic worldwide, so it’s fantastic to be able to join in the celebrations this weekend, fittingly, where the team and Mobil 1 first raced together at Sydney Motorsport Park in 1994.

“Our 31-year history with Mobil 1 has been an outstanding success, both on and off track, and is the definition of the word partnership, so we can’t thank everyone involved enough, and we are equally excited about what’s to come.”

For Mostert, the black and blue livery also marks a throwback to the colours he carried to Bathurst victory in 2021.

Brad Phillips, General Manager, Business to Business, Ampol, added: "As Mobil 1 hits the half-century milestone, Australians will be sure to reflect on a journey of superior lubrication that's powered our vehicles through every outback adventure and cityscape challenges alike.
