Friday racing will bring a new spectacle to the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, with four rounds to feature a sprint on Friday.

For the first time, Sydney, Townsville and Adelaide will stage a race on the Friday of the event, with the Grand Prix also returning with Thursday and Friday races.

It comes amid sweeping changes to formats for the coming season, with a Finals series announced amid a new-look three-part campaign.

The 2025 season will begin with a three-race over three-night format at the Sydney SuperNight from February 21-23 at Sydney Motorsport Park. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The first race of the season, Race 1, will be held under lights, making for a spectacular season-opening affair under Sydney night skies.

A 100km sprint will also be held in Townsville and Adelaide, marking firsts for both events. The Townsville sprint comes ahead of 200km races on the Saturday and Sunday, comprising 500km of racing for the weekend.

The VAILO Adelaide Grand Final, meanwhile, will see 600km of blockbuster racing action held on the South Australian capital’s streets. The Friday sprint will precede the tradition 250km races, which will decide the 2025 champion.

Sprint racing also returns to Melbourne in 2025 at the Grand Prix, and as it has been since 2022, there will be a race on all four days of the event. Race 4 (Thursday) and Race 5 (Friday) will lead the way into sprints on Saturday and Sunday.

All told, there will be 34 races next season, up from the 24 in 2024. The 10 additional races add up to an additional 1200km of racing compared to 2024, totalling 6695km of competition.

The Taupō, Tasmania, Perth, Darwin and Ipswich rounds will all use the new Super440 format, with dual 120km sprints to precede a 200km Sunday race.

The Bend and Bathurst will stage 500km and 1000km endurance races, while the Gold Coast and Sandown will comprise the two elimination rounds of the all-new Finals system, with dual 250km races.

Ticketing information for remaining 2025 rounds will be announced in due course.
