Erebus continues big moves up pit lane order
Five teams changed garage positions after Bathurst
Triple Eight, Tickford the top two for Adelaide
A wild Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 has dramatically impacted the pit lane order quite, with five teams set for garage changes for the VAILO Adelaide 500.
An action-packed weekend in Surfers Paradise was headlined by a lap 1 incident in Sunday's race, with several cars damaged in a dramatic Turn 11 pile-up.
The biggest loser from the weekend were the Shell V-Power Racing Team and Matt Stone Racing, which dropped to fifth and seventh after entering the weekend fourth and fifth. Click here to view the full standings.
Both Dick Johnson Racing Fords were damaged in the crash, while Nick Percat had a shocking weekend with finishes of 12th and 22nd, the latter result coming after he sustained major damage in the lap 1 crash. Anton De Pasquale, meanwhile, was the only DNF of the weekend.
The biggest winners were Erebus Motorsport and Penrite Racing, which started the weekend in eighth and sixth, and left in sixth and fourth. Both Penrite Fords reeled off double top 10s, while Brodie Kostecki won Sunday's race.
If not for a clash with Mark Winterbottom on Saturday for Jack Le Brocq, Erebus would have jumped DJR to fifth, which in itself is remarkable given the reigning champions were as low as 10th two rounds ago.
DJR is 144 points behind Penrite Racing, but Erebus, MSR and PremiAir Nulon Racing are all within striking distance. DJR is just 12 points ahead of Erebus, with MSR a further 21 points behind. PremiAir, meanwhile, is 50 points behind MSR.
All told, teams from fourth to eighth are covered by 227 points.
Triple Eight Race Engineering and Tickford Racing are set to occupy the first two garages for Round 1 next year. Triple Eight sealed the title in Bathurst, while Tickford is now 337 points ahead of WAU. Third is likely where WAU will stay, with Penrite Racing 429 points down.
Team 18 remained ninth, but Brad Jones Racing's Andre Heimgartner/Bryce Fullwood crew is just 33 points behind.
The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship will conclude at the VAILO Adelaide 500 from November 14-17. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
Live coverage can be found on Foxtel, with live streaming available on Kayo. The Seven Network will take free to air coverage. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
