Six drivers will head into Wednesday night’s Cash Converters Supercars Eseries races with a chance at silverware.
The All Stars and Pro Series categories both have three drivers each in with a chance to claim the title.
What you need to know: Round 6 Supercars Eseries
Brodie Kostecki and Dayne Warren are the leaders of their respective series, but both drivers have everything to lose on Wednesday night.
Real-life Erebus Motorsport main game ace Kostecki has been the form driver in the All Stars category.
Kostecki heads into the Watkins Glen race having claimed three straight wins at Daytona, Monza and Bathurst.
His Bathurst win came alongside Pro Series teammate Jarrad Filsell, who defied a racy Warren in the closing laps to claim the enduro win.
Erebus is the only team which could win both titles on Wednesday night.
Filsell will need to outscore Warren by 82 points or more to win the title.
Warren won the opening four races of the 2021 Pro Series campaign at the Red Bull Ring, Long Beach, Road America and Phillip Island.
The Walkinshaw Andretti United driver crossed the line second in Bathurst last week, but a post-race penalty demoted him to seventh.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for Warren and Chaz Mostert, who put in an inspired opening stint to get the WAU entry into race-winning contention.
If Filsell wins on Wednesday night at the all-new Hungaroring, Warren needs to finish 12th or better to win the Pro Series title.
If second-placed Brad Jones Racing driver Jake Burton wins, Warren needs to finish ninth or better.
Burton only trails Warren by 69 points, despite the former’s dominance.
The Pro Series’ own ‘Mr Consistent’, Burton was classified second behind Filsell in last week’s Bathurst enduro.
It was Burton’s third podium in five starts in 2021 following his third in Austria and second at Road America.
Kostecki will carry a 120-point lead over Richie Stanaway into the Watkins Glen race, with James Golding 148 points behind in third.
If Stanaway wins at Watkins Glen - it would be his third win of the season - Kostecki must finish 25th or better to win the title.
For Golding to win the title, he must win the race and Kostecki must fail to score - a very tall order considering Kostecki’s form.
Qualifying coverage for Round 6 begins at 7pm AEST and will be broadcast live on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.
