Jaxon Evans has been cleared of injury following his major Turn 8 crash, but remains in doubt for Sunday's VAILO Adelaide 500 amid major repairs.
The Brad Jones Racing rookie crashed heavily in Boost Mobile Qualifying on Sunday morning, with Evans walking away from the frightening incident.
Evans was cleared at the on-site medical centre, and despite feeling "a little bit winded," said afterwards he was feeling okay.
" I'm feeling a little bit shaken up after that," the Kiwi said on the broadcast.
"Never nice to be the one that ends up in the fence, especially here at Turn 8. But, thankfully I'm okay. A little bit winded, but yeah, otherwise happy to walk away from that one."
Evans joined Richie Stanaway, Cameron Hill and David Reynolds as victims of the infamous Turn 8 sweeper, with Stanaway ruled out for the remainder of the weekend.
"Obviously qualifying, so we're putting everything on the line," Evans said.
"I felt like I didn't turn in super early, maybe a little bit in the end, and I just caught the inside fence, which put me into the outside fence, and from there on you're a passenger.
"So it just felt like I was ping-ponging off the walls down the back straight."
At the time of publication, BJR mechanics have four hours to repairs Evans' damaged SCT Logistics Chevrolet Camaro for the final race of the season.
"I think I've got the best team in pit lane when it comes to repairing cars," Evans said.
"They'll put their heart and souls into getting it back out on track and as long as I'm feeling okay, we'll be out there racing this afternoon."
The final race of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, Race 24, is set to start at 3:15pm local time/3:45pm AEDT.
