The Fords have fired back in final practice at the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint, with Prodrive young gun Jack Jack Le Brocq edging out his teammate Garry Jacobson top the session.
Eggleston Motorsport’s Holdens recorded the top times in the first practice, but the Falcons had the edge in the second Dunlop Series session, with the Prodrive cars separated by 0.27 seconds.
Le Brocq registered the quickest time with his 1min32.1025sec lap.
It was a bad day for Dan Day, who was shown the blag flag early with the muffler hanging off his V8 Supercar. He later beached his car, bringing out the Safety Car with eight and a half minutes remaining in the session.
Conditions went green again and it was on in the closing minutes, with Macauley Jones and Garry Jacobson firing before Le Brocq took top spot ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying and first race at Phillip Island for the development category since 2007.
Two-time series champ Pau Dumbrell finish third, ahead of Jones and Todd Hazelwood.
Shae Davies led early and ultimately managed seventh in the order.
