Penrite Racing revives special gold livery for Bathurst
Grove Mustangs raced to Gold Coast, Adelaide wins last year
Matt Payne/Garth Tander fifth at recent Sandown 500
Penrite Racing has revived its special gold look for this weekend's Repco Bathurst 1000, following the livery's successful run in 2023.
The Grove Racing squad has evolved the 2023 look into a sleek design for 2024, which will hit the track for the first time on Thursday at Mount Panorama.
Last year, Penrite Racing revealed its brushed copper look, which was raced to victory by David Reynolds and Matt Payne on the Gold Coast and Adelaide respectively.
The latest gold livery is the fifth different scheme for the team this year, following the team's standard black look, the special native New Zealand colours for Taupō, the Indigenous livery, and the Allan Moffat tribute colours for Sandown.
The 2024 event will be the team's third under sole Grove ownership, after team bought into Kelly Racing in 2021.
The team has Bathurst winners through the organisation, led by reigning champion Richie Stanaway. Stanaway is engineered by Bathurst-winning engineer Alistair McVean, with Technical Director Grant McPherson also a Bathurst winner.
Then, there's Matt Payne's co-driver Garth Tander, who is a five-time winner of the Great Race.
Before track action commences on Thursday, fans can catch a first glimpse during Wednesday's Track to Town event.
