Repco Bathurst 1000 race start time confirmed

The latest ever start time for the Great Race has been confirmed as part of the release of the full Repco Bathurst 1000 schedule.
The 2021 race will start at 12:15pm local time on Sunday December 5.
It undercuts the previous latest start time of 11:30am in 2019, and will be the latest start time in the Great Race’s 59-year history.
Unlike all other Supercars races, the Bathurst 1000 does not have a time certain cut-off.
Schedule set for Repco Bathurst 1000
Supercars often races on the first weekend of December, but this year's Repco Bathurst 1000 will feature the first ever December Great Race.
The later race start time coincides with later sunsets in December versus traditional Bathurst dates in early October.
A later start ensures the race maximises the afternoon sunlight and finishes closer to the prime time television window.
Between 1979 and 2006, the race commenced at 10:00am local time.
It was moved to 10:30am in 2007 in the first year of the Seven Network covering the race in the modern era.
It was then moved to 11:00am in 2015, before starting at 11:15am between 2016 and 2018.

The 2020 race was scheduled to start at 11:30am local time, but was brought forward amid the threat of inclement weather.
The Repco Bathurst 1000 will be the 31st and final race of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship.
Supercars will run six one-hour practice sessions; three of them will be for Additional Drivers only.
ARMOR ALL Qualifying will commence at 4:35pm local time on the Friday, with the Top Ten Shootout kicking off at 5:05pm on the Saturday.

All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo. The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm AEDT on Sunday.
