Repco has revealed its latest offering for Supercars fans with the Ultimate Pit Stop Experience.
The free activation gives fans the opportunity to experience what it would be like to be involved in a real Supercars pit stop.
The activation is making its public debut at this weekend's NTI Townsville 500.
It will remain in Townsville for next weekend’s WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint.
The participant is pitted against against the clock; in the challenge, they need to insert the air spike, take off and put on front and rear tyres, couple the fuel nozzle into the car, and release the air spike.
Fans are offered prizes for participating and setting fast times, adding extra pressure to the experience.
The pit stop experience Ford Mustang has been designed and built by Gold Coast-based Showtime FMX for Repco.
The Supercars components have supplied by championship-winning team Shell V Power Racing.
"The crew at Repco are so proud of this new fan initiative. It is such a fitting addition to our at-track activation, The Garage," said Mitchell Wiley Head of Sponsorship, Repco.
"Leading up to, and during the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship, we have been asking the fans how we can better improve their experience with the sport.
"Overwhelmingly the response has been 'how can we get closer to the action'?
"The Ultimate Pitstop Experience is as close as you can get to performing a real pitstop.
"The Garage, the viewing platform and all our family and fan activations are completely free of charge, we want to share our passion for all things Supercars with the fans."
