David Reynolds has been excluded from Saturday’s ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootout for a technical infringement.

Reynolds set the third-fastest time in the Shootout behind Cam Waters and Scott Pye.

The Penrite Racing driver has since been listed as disqualified in the updated Shootout results.

Only nine drivers took part in the Shootout, with Thomas Randle missing out following his practice crash.

Tickford Racing missed the start cut-off for the Shootout due to repairs on Randle’s car.

Randle crashed at the fast Turn 8 sweeper in the earlier Practice 3.

Reynolds qualified sixth for the Shootout in Friday qualifying, and will start Race 33 from 10th.

The #26 Penrite Mustang was being investigated over a breach of regulations shortly after the Shootout.

The breach concerns the rear wing, which was found to have been adjusted to a level exceeding the allowed parameters.

Supercars Head of Motorsport Adrian Burgess explained that the likely outcome was disqualification from the Shootout.

That was later confirmed in the provisional results, with Anton De Pasquale and James Courtney promoted to third and fourth.

Andre Heimgartner, James Golding, Chaz Mostert and Todd Hazelwood now fill positions five through eight.

The 78-lap Race 33 will start at 3:15pm local time on Saturday.
