Cam Waters will start from the best position for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 opener at the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit.

The Tickford Racing star beat Richie Stanaway to Race 21 pole, with title contenders Chaz Mostert and Broc Feeney to launch from third and fourth.

All up, 14 Chevrolet Camaros and 10 Ford Mustangs will tackle the 2.9km circuit. The 85-lap race will commence at 3:15pm AEST.

The race will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506), Kayo and the Seven Network.
