With the biggest party on the Gold Coast just over a week away, Supercars drivers welcomed the arrival of the famous Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 surfboard trophies with a trip to Surfers Paradise beach.

Drivers James Golding, Anton De Pasquale and Aaron Love spoke to media on Wednesday morning at Surfers Paradise beach before debuting this year’s famous surfboard trophies, awarded to the top three finishers in each of the weekend’s two Supercars races.

This year's build up to the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will feature a week of activities, including:

  • Tuesday October 22: Drivers Beach Volleyball Match on Surfers Paradise Beach

  • Wednesday October 23: The Main Beach Transporters Parade

  • Thursday October 24: Annual Sunset Signing Session at Cavill Ave

  • Thursday October 24: Drone light show following Sunset Signing Session over Surfers Paradise Beach

On track will feature plenty of highlights once the event begins on October 25, including:

  • The inaugural Boost Mobile Pro DRIFT SLAM featuring some of the world's best drift drivers in twilight sessions

  • Repco Supercars Championship, where only four drivers remain in Championship contention

  • Four support categories: the Porsche Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, V8 SuperUtes, and Toyota 86 GAZOO Racing GR Cup

The 2024 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will commemorate 30 years since Supercars joined the Indy festival as a support category for the first time in 1994. Supercars’ Hall of Fame inductee John Bowe triumphed in that inaugural race, driving a Dick Johnson Ford Falcon EB.

Golding claimed his Arundel-based team's first ever podium result at Sandown last month, and De Pasquale is a Supercars race winner, but the now Gold Coast residents have yet to taste victory at their adopted home race. Love is a rookie racing a Supercar on the streets of Surfers Paradise for the first time.

On-track action begins Friday at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, with opening practice ahead of Saturday and Sunday's 250km races that decide this year's title.

Live coverage of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 can be found on Seven and Foxtel, with live streaming available via 7plus and Kayo.
