BJR Commodore repaired after heavy crash late in Race 1
Cody Gillis has been disqualified from this morning's Dunlop Series qualifying session at Sandown.
The #9 Brad Jones Racing Commodore was found to have used an 'ineligible controlled component' in the session, and therefore had all times deleted.
Gillis had initially qualified 20th outright, and 18th in Super2, but will now start from 23rd and last on the grid.
It continues a tough weekend for the 25-year-old rookie, who crashed out of yesterday's race in a high-speed off that started at turn six and ended in the gravel at Turn 9.
The car was repaired overnight, but initially had a tyre rub on the front left guard which was quickly resolved.
Teammate Elliott Cleary will start from 14th on the grid, and finished 12th in Race 1.
Race 2 for the Dunlop Series at Sandown begins at 12:40pm AEST.
