A dramatic Penrite Oil Sandown 500 has had a major impact on the Live Pit Lane stakes, with the pit lane order to look markedly different for the Repco Bathurst 1000.

A one-two for Red Bull Ampol Racing helped the Chevrolet team extend its teams' championship lead from 818 to 1075 points.

Should Triple Eight leave Bathurst 1152 points ahead of its nearest rival, it will secure the title with two rounds to go.

While Triple Eight will occupy the first two garages for Bathurst, they will have a different neighbour for the third round running, with Tickford Racing and Walkinshaw Andretti United again changing places.

Tickford is just seven points ahead of its Ford rivals, which were announced Wednesday as Toyota's homologation team from 2026.

Behind them, despite a DNF for Richie Stanaway, Penrite Racing benefited from a fourth-place Sandown finish for Matt Payne/Garth Tander to jump ahead of Dick Johnson Racing, which had a shocking day.

The big winner was PremiAir Nulon Racing, which thanks to its maiden podium by James Golding/David Russell, jumped from ninth to seventh behind Matt Stone Racing.

The biggest loser was Erebus Motorsport, which dropped from seventh to 10th, and is a staggering 2018 points behind Triple Eight.

Brodie Kostecki/Todd Hazelwood suffered a an electrical-related DNF, while Jack Le Brocq/Jayden Ojeda missed out on a spirited top five result after a late clash with Payne.

Erebus dropped behind the lead Brad Jones Racing crew of Andre Heimgartner and Bryce Fullwood, meaning BJR will occupy the four garages ahead of the reigning champions at Mount Panorama.

The two wildcard entries of Craig Lowndes/Cooper Murray (Triple Eight) and Matt Chahda/Brad Vaughan (Matt Chahda Motorsport) will share a pit boom at the end of pit lane in Bathurst.

The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Repco Bathurst 1000 on October 10-13. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

Live coverage can be found on Foxtel, with live streaming available on Kayo. The Seven Network will take free to air coverage. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
