Tasmania triggers wholesale Live Pit Lane changes
WAU jumps Tickford, DJR jumps Grove Racing
Seventh to 10th covered by just 60 points
Few rounds impacted the Live Pit Lane quite like the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint, which has seen three positional changes and a tightened order ahead of the first enduro of the season.
Red Bull Ampol Racing still holds a comfortable lead heading to the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, with the Camaro team 818 points ahead of its nearest rival.
Tickford Racing left the weekend with a victory to Cam Waters, but Thomas Randle's clash with Broc Feeney has seen Walkinshaw Andretti United take second place back.
WAU entered the weekend just behind Tickford, but Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood both finished inside the top 10 in Sunday's race to regain second position, albeit by 17 points.
Behind them, there was further change, with the Shell V-Power Racing Team getting past Ford rivals Penrite Racing into fourth, albeit by 21 points.
Matt Payne (17th and 21st) and Richie Stanaway (16th and 17th) had shockers, but Will Davison (15th and 11th) and Anton De Pasquale (13th and 14th) weren't much better. The two teams came together on track, with Davison spinning Payne on lap 1 on Saturday.
Ultimately, Dick Johnson Racing out-scored the Grove team 261 points to 207, and regained fourth place, which it held in Perth.
Behind them. Erebus Motorsport jumped Team 18 into seventh, with the reigning champions leading a tight logjam of teams. Erebus, Team 18, PremiAir Nulon Racing and Brad Jones Racing are covered by just 60 points.
Erebus scored top fives for Brodie Kostecki (Saturday) and Jack Le Brocq (Sunday), while David Reynolds (Saturday) and Mark Winterbottom (Sunday) both recorded finishes of ninth.
The Chevrolet teams tripped over each other in the races; Andre Heimgartner sent Winterbottom into a spin on Saturday, while Kostecki did the same to Reynolds 24 hours later.
It all helped BJR and PremiAir Nulon Racing, with Bryce Fullwood claiming a shock Sunday podium, and Tim Slade scoring a double top 10.
All told, BJR scored 348 points, more than PremiAir (297), Erebus (294) and Team 18 (258).
The 2024 Repco Supercars will switch to enduro mode at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 on September 13-15. Tickets for the 60th anniversary event are on sale now.
Live coverage can be found on Foxtel, with live streaming available on Kayo. Highlights will be shown on the Seven Network and 7plus. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
