Penrite Racing has again honoured legendary racer Allan Moffat with a special retro livery for this weekend’s Penrite Oil Sandown 500.

The Matt Payne/Garth Tander and Richie Stanaway/Dale Wood Fords have traded the team’s regular livery for a stunning new blue look.

The #19 and #26 Mustangs will sport the iconic 'Brut 33’ livery that Moffat carried to victory aboard a Ford Falcon XB GT in the 1974 Sandown endurance event.

It comes after the team ran a 1979 Federation scheme at last year’s event.

To help celebrate the anniversary, a replica of the 1974 Falcon will be on display at Sandown, given the original car was destroyed in a transporter fire in 1976.

Naming rights partner and Sandown event sponsor, Penrite Oil, has continued its partnership with Moffat, who is a Dementia Australia patron.

The partnership is aimed at raising awareness and community support for patients and their families affected by dementia.

"Penrite Racing is proud to unveil a striking one-off Allan Moffat tribute livery, which the team will carry during this weekend's Penrite Oil Sandown 500,” the team said.

"Penrite Racing's Mustangs will sport the iconic 'Brut 33' livery, paying tribute to the Ford Falcon XB GT that carried Moffat to his third Sandown endurance event victory in 1974.

"In conjunction with Penrite Oil, Penrite Racing are proud to continue their support of Dementia Australia.

"The partnership is aimed at raising awareness and community support for those patients and families impacted by dementia, with Allan Moffat a Dementia Australia patron."

The Penrite livery is the latest new look for Sandown, following Tickford Racing's TOM's Supra-inspired Castrol colours, PremiAir Nulon Racing's tweaked scheme, Brad Jones Racing's anniversary SCT Logistics livery, new naming rights for Erebus Motorsport's #1 entry, and the Boost Mobile-backed Matt Chahda Motorsport wildcard Camaro.

The new-look cars will hit the track for the first time on Friday.
