PremiAir Racing have announced that they will run a special livery for the upcoming Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and Repco Bathurst 1000.

The new look for the #23 and #31 Camaros will be revealed at a special launch event open to the public on Sunday September 8.

The event will be held at the Gold Coast Motor Museum, and will feature a driver Q&A, free giveaways, signed merchandise, and more.

The liveries will be unveiled at 9:00am, with the Q&A to follow, and the cars will remain on display until 4:00pm.

The museum opens at 7:30am, as does the museum’s cafe which will be serving breakfast.

The two Nulon Camaros boast exciting driver lineups, with Tim Slade to partner with Super2 star Cameron McLeod in the #23, while James Golding pairs with David Russell in the #31.

The winner of the prestigious Mike Kable Young Gun Award last year, McLeod has been a regular in the PremiAir garage even at non-Super2 events.

McLeod is an experienced hand in endurance racing, competing in events like the Dubai 24 Hour, and has impressed Slade in his limited running in the Gen3 Camaro.

“I’ve got Camy McLeod, so it’ll be the first time for him to do the enduros, but he’s done a good job on the times he’s driven the car,” said Slade on Supercars Trackside post-Tasmania.

“It’s good that we were able to give him an evaluation day a few weeks back to do some extra miles.

“It’s super important to dot your I’s, cross your T’s and make sure you’re on top of all your one percenters, so the whole team will be working flat out on making sure that’s all right between now and then.”

Golding is particularly excited about his chances for the Bathurst 1000, with the signing of Russell from Erebus a major coup for the ambitious PremiAir outfit.

Russell built an exceptional record at Mount Panorama with Brodie Kostecki, finishing third, fourth, and second in the past three editions of the Bathurst 1000.

Golding too has displayed speed at Bathurst recently, qualifying fourth at last year’s Bathurst 1000 and also for Race 2 at the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 this year.

“I can’t wait, it’s my favourite time of year,” said Golding, who enters the enduros ninth in points.

“It’s great to have D-Russ onboard, he’s a bit of a wizard in tin tops and he’s done the enduros a million times, so I can’t wait to have him onboard.

“We’ve been pretty strong at those tracks, last year particularly, so I can’t wait to get there and forget about Tassie.”

The Repco Supercars Championship shifts into enduro mode at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 from September 13-15. Tickets for the 60th anniversary event are available now.
