Dean Fiore completes BJR enduro line-up
Fiore to share SCT Camaro with rookie Jaxon Evans
Veteran to test with BJR before Sandown 500
Brad Jones Racing has added one of the final pieces of the enduro puzzle, formally announcing seasoned co-driver Dean Fiore will join Jaxon Evans at Sandown and Bathurst.
Veteran Fiore will share the #12 SCT Logistics Camaro with Kiwi Evans at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and Repco Bathurst 1000.
It leaves Tickford Racing as the final team to announce its enduro line-up, with the Ford team expected to retain James Moffat and Tyler Everingham.
Evans will be primary driver at Sandown and Bathurst for the first time, after co-driving for Jack Smith in 2022 and 2023.
However, Fiore is no stranger to BJR, having impressed alongside Fullwood in 2022 and 2023 amid an enviable run at Mount Panorama.
Fiore has finished inside the top 10 in the last four Great Races, having helped Fullwood drive through the field twice in as many years.
The West Australian driver joins BJR following an ill-fated Dunlop Series cameo in Townsville, where he avoided injury in a 150km/h accident following a brake failure.
Fiore, who joined BJR at a recent ride day at Sydney Motorsport Park, was keen to get the ball rolling ahead of his 16th consecutive Bathurst start.
“Excited to be back in the BJR stable with the SCT crew for this year,” said Fiore, who will join BJR at a pre-enduro test day at Winton Motor Raceway next month.
“I am also thrilled by the prospect of supporting a young talent like Jaxon. I’ve been following his career over the years through Porsche and GT and he’s had some great results.
“Jaxon and I also get along very well, we’ve been around each other for a few years, spending a few hours in the drivers’ trailer. So I’m excited to support his enduro campaign in 2024.
“Joining the SCT Motorsport program also means a lot that I get to work with Andrew Jones [Head of Motorsport Programs at SCT Logistics]. I’ve known him for 20 years or so and we’ve always kept in touch. So it’s great to get the opportunity to work with him.”
Evans added: “Obviously very excited to welcome Dean to the car 12 crew for this year’s enduros.
"A driver with proven results at Bathurst and a wealth of Supercars experience. Bringing a positive energy to the team both on and off the track – I look forward to a strong campaign together.”
