Cameron Hill has set the pace in final practice at Symmons Plains Raceway, as Chaz Mostert surfed through the gravel in a late-session scare.

Hill led an all-Camaro top four with Broc Feeney, Andre Heimgartner and Bryce Fullwood, with Will Davison and Mostert fifth and sixth.

Mostert, who enters Sunday just 63 points behind championship leader Will Brown, lost control late in the session and cut the Turn 1/2 gravel.

The Walkinshaw Andretti United star, however, used all his skill to let his car sail over the crest and emerge unscathed.

The margin between Hill and Feeney was just 0.0415s, with the top four covered by 0.0996s. All four Brad Jones Racing Camaros were in the top 10, with Jaxon Evans and Macauley Jones ninth and 10th.

Heimgartner opened proceedings with a 51.5870s, with Cam Waters second with a 51.5918s. Hill improved the benchmark to a 51.4838s, before Waters went slightly quicker with a 51.4690s.

Hill (51.4300s) and Jack Le Brocq (51.4085s) then hit the front, before Davison (51.3504s) and Feeney (51.2921s) then took over. All the while, Mostert improved to second with a 51.3063s.

There was trouble down the lane for PremiAir Nulon Racing, with Tim Slade reportedly dropping a cylinder. Slade only set nine laps in the session, and ended up 24th and last. Stanaway also ran off at Turn 4, and ended up 19th.

Hill pressed on, going third with a 51.3373s as Davison (51.2749s) and Heimgartner (51.2458s) improved, before Hill set the ultimate pace with a 51.1730 as Mostert ran off the road.

Ryan Wood and Le Brocq were seventh and eighth, with Waters 15th and Brown 20th all told after 20 minutes of uninterrupted running.

Saturday winner Nick Percat was 12th behind De Pasquale.

Supercars will return on Sunday with Boost Mobile Qualifying at 12:50pm AEST, which will set the grid for Race 18 at 3:05pm.
