Dick Johnson Racing veteran Will Davison will compete in Tasmania with a new engineer, in the absence of his regular engineer.

With Davison's regular Race Engineer Richard Harris absent overseas for a wedding, Data and Systems Engineer Caleb Mutsaerts will step up in Tasmania.

The Tasmania round will be Mutsaerts' first as a lead Race Engineer, with Perry Kapper continuing on Anton De Pasquale's car. Mark Fenning, meanwhile, will continue as Director of Engineering.

Mutsaerts will lead a driver in solid form, with Davison claiming pole last time out at Sydney Motorsport Park. Before joining DJR in 2023, Mutsaerts was previously part of Matt Stone Racing.

Harris will return ahead of the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, with Davison joined at the enduros by rising star Kai Allen.

Mutsaerts substituting for Harris is the latest engineer shuffle in 2024, with James Courtney's new Race Engineer Matthew Saunders taking over from Raymond Lau in Townsville.

Earlier this year, Ludo Lacroix took over on Tim Slade's car following the departure of Mirko De Rosa. Bryce Fullwood, meanwhile, had Data Engineer Jason Bonney stand in in Perth after regular Race Engineer Phil Keed missed out due to a flight cancellation.

Davison and Mutsaerts will link up for the first time in Friday practice at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint. Tickets are on sale now.
