Shell V-Power primary backing makes way for first time since 2016
  • Jet Couriers to sponsor Dick Johnson Racing Mustangs in New Zealand

  • Shell V-Power to step aside for Taupō only

  • New recruit Brodie Kostecki fifth in standings after Melbourne

Dick Johnson Racing have unveiled a one-off livery for the Repco Supercars Championship's annual visit to New Zealand at the upcoming ITM Taupō Super 440.

Having become synonymous with Shell V-Power backing since the brand returned as a full-time primary sponsor in 2017, the iconic backing will disappear from the Mustangs of Brodie Kostecki and Will Davison for one weekend only.

The red makes way for maroon in Taupō, with Jet Couriers jumping onboard as the primary backer, with Shell branding remaining on the cars in a minor capacity.

The move was made due to Shell V-Power petrol not being available in the New Zealand market, with Shell Australia's parent company Viva Energy supporting the move to bring new backing in New Zealand.

The team will still appear as the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

“The Jet Couriers livery will look superb on the Shell V-Power Ford Mustangs,” Noble said.

“The Taupō Super440 will be another amazing event. Last year we saw just how passionate the New Zealand crowd were in what was a very successful event for us and we’re expecting another full house in April. I know there will be plenty of support for us in the new Jet Couriers livery.

“We’re also pleased to say that we’ll have some limited-edition Jet Couriers branded merchandise available at the track to celebrate the partnership, as well as online for any fans keen to get their hands on this unique look.

“A huge thanks to Brett, Shaun and the entire team at Jet Couriers for extending their support and also to Viva Energy for allowing another brand the opportunity to be showcased on our cars.”

Jet Couriers Founder and Managing Director Brett Ralph added: “Jet Couriers has a strong involvement with the Shell V-Power Racing Team and the opportunity to step up our support was an opportunity we didn’t want to miss, given our presence in New Zealand.

“The new Jet Couriers livery looks outstanding on the Shell V-Power Ford Mustangs and we can’t wait to see them on track at Taupō in just under a month’s time. “We’d like to thank Viva Energy for allowing us to have the predominant branding position on the car for this event, it’s a fantastic opportunity that wouldn’t be possible without their commitment to Dick Johnson Racing.”
