  • Head-to-head trends emerging through first two rounds of 2025

  • Cam Waters, Brodie Kostecki, Anton De Pasquale have strong H2H leads

Several intriguing storylines have emerged in teamland through the first two rounds of the season, right at the very head of pit lane.

Through two rounds and six races, we've seen four different winners from three different teams, while two drivers have shared the seven Boost Mobile Pole Positions.

A quick glance at the points standings shows there should be little surprise at which drivers hold down the top six seven spots in the championship, but there's much more to it than that.

Most notably, Broc Feeney has Triple Eight Race Engineering teammate Will Brown's number in qualifying, leading 7-0. However, just as he did last year, Brown has turned the tables in the races, leading 4-2.

Across 11 teams in both qualifying and races, there are four sweeps: Feeney over Brown in qualifying, and in the races for Tickford Racing, Penrite Racing and Team 18.

Cam Waters has finished ahead of Thomas Randle in all six races so far, courtesy of his clean sweep in Sydney, and two charges through the field in Melbourne. Randle out-qualified Waters twice in Melbourne.

Matt Payne is comfortably ahead of rookie teammate Kai Allen, but one of the big stories has been down at Team 18, where Anton De Pasquale leads David Reynolds 6-1 in qualifying, and 6-0 in the races.

De Pasquale is one of just three drivers, along with Brown and Waters, to finish all six races in the top 10. Reynolds, meanwhile, is languishing through a rotten start to 2025, and is yet to finish a race in the 10.

Brodie Kostecki also has the early running over Shell V-Power Racing Team stablemate Will Davison, leading 5-2 and 5-1. Kostecki is fifth in the points, and Davison 13th.

Andre Heimgartner and Jack Le Brocq also lead their respective teammates, while Ryan Wood has returned serve at star Walkinshaw Andretti United teammate Chaz Mostert. Wood currently leads the qualifying head-to-head, with Mostert going 3-0 in the Sydney races before Wood went 2-1.

Of all combinations, there is just one even split; Cameron Hill and Nick Percat are 3-3 in races at Matt Stone Racing. Hill has started the year with a win and two front row starts in Melbourne, and is 21 points ahead in the drivers standings.

Supercars action will resume in New Zealand at the ITM Taupō Super 440 on April 11-13. Tickets are on sale now.
